The "universal" version of the "first Insignia" debuted in the same year as the sedan with a hatchback - in 2008. The full-face station wagon completely repeats the "less roomy brothers", and its main difference, of course, in the rear part of the body - which differs in shape and greater capacity.

After the 2013 update, the Sports Tourer wagon has slightly changed in appearance and received a significantly redesigned filling (which is really capable of making this car one of the most attractive in its class). However, in Russia, station wagons "have never broken sales records" and not even the most "impressive filling" will affect this situation ... it's another matter - Europe - that's where the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer, as they say, "found itself".

In the review of the "three-volume Insignia", we have already examined in detail all the changes that have occurred to the family as a result of the 2013 update, so we will be brief - the station wagon received: an updated radiator grille, slightly modernized bumpers, retouched optics and a number of other small, not striking changes ... In general, the rather successful design concept has remained unchanged and is completely similar to that used on the hatchback sedan.

The update of the model did not affect the dimensions: body length - 4913 mm, wheelbase length - 2737 mm, body width - 1856 mm excluding mirrors and 2084 mm with mirrors, body height - 1513 mm. The curb weight, depending on the configuration, ranges from 1613 kg to 1843 kg.

The interior of the station wagon "Sports Tourer" is similar to the interior of the "top" version of the three-volume (and is discussed in the corresponding review), so we will not repeat ourselves.

The luggage compartment of this station wagon is able, by default, to absorb 540 liters of cargo (but with the rear seats folded down, the "cargo volume" increases to 1530 liters).

Specifications. The developers prepared four engines for the station wagon at once (three of them are completely new), so there is plenty to choose from:

  • A 1.8-liter gasoline unit with a return of 140 hp is used as the base unit. and a torque of 175 Nm.
  • There is also a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine, the power of which reaches 170 hp, and the peak torque is 260 Nm.
  • The "junior" diesel has a volume of 2.0 liters, the maximum power is 160 hp. and a torque of 350 Nm.
  • And the "senior" 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI will provide 400 Nm and 195 hp.

The younger gasoline engine is aggregated only with a 6-speed "mechanics". For the rest of the engines, a new 6-speed "automatic" is also provided.

The all-wheel drive system for the Insignia Sports Tourer is not even available as an option and is provided only for the "all-terrain" modification of the Country Tourer.

Prices and equipment. The starting price of the 2014 Opel Insignia Sports Tourer starts at 1,012,000 rubles for a car in the Elegance configuration, equipped with full power accessories, cruise control, climate control, rain sensor, LED taillights, 17-inch steel wheels, ABS systems , EBD and ESP.
