The official premiere of the "Japanese" of the third generation was organized in June 2010 at the Hungarian plant "Magyar Suzuki Corporation", where soon its serial production started.
Three years later, the restyled hatchback debuted - it was separated from cosmetic changes in appearance, the list of body colors was expanded, the interior was slightly tweaked and the number of proposed modifications increased. The car underwent another (albeit less significant) update in the fall of 2014, again slightly transformed both outside and in technical terms.
Suzuki Swift looks perky, attractive and sporty fit - the Japanese "sturdy" flaunts dashing lighting equipment, embossed bumpers, an energetic silhouette and widely spaced wheels measuring 15-16 inches.
"Swift" of the third generation is a subcompact three- or five-door hatchback with the following body dimensions: 3850-3860 mm in length, 1510 mm in height and 1695 mm in width. The vehicle has a wheelbase of 2430 mm and a ground clearance of 140 mm.
The interior of the car is somewhat discordant with the exterior - inside it looks a little gloomy, but at the same time modern, laconic and functional: a three-spoke multi-steering wheel, an extremely clear instrument panel and a pretty center console, crowned with a radio tape recorder and an air conditioning unit. The build quality is at a decent level, which cannot be said about the finishing materials - hard plastics are used everywhere.
The decoration of the "third" Suzuki Swift is capable of accommodating four adult riders, but at the back, of course, the margin of free space is minimal. But in front, the "balance of power" is different - anatomical chairs with well-developed sidewalls will accommodate even tall people.
The trunk of "Swift" is tiny even by the standards of the class - only 211 liters in its usual form. The backrest of the rear seat is retracted in a ratio of 40:60, but at the same time it forms a noticeable step, and the volume increases slightly (up to 860-874 liters, depending on the version).
Specifications. For the third "release" of the Suzuki Swift, three engines are provided, which work together with a 5-speed "mechanics" and a front-wheel drive transmission, and the "junior" petrol version - also with a 4-speed "automatic" and all-wheel drive (with a viscous coupling connecting the rear axis):
- The gasoline section combines in-line atmospheric "fours" with a volume of 1.2-1.6 liters with multipoint injection, variable valve timing and 16-valve timing, developing 94-136 horsepower and 118-160 Nm of torque.
- There is only one diesel engine - a four-cylinder 1.2-liter turbo engine with 16 valves and a Common Rail "power supply" system, the performance of which reaches 75 "horses" and 190 Nm of ultimate thrust.
For its class "Swift" has good characteristics: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is within 8.7-13.5 seconds, and the maximum capabilities are 160-195 km / h. Gasoline cars in mixed mode "drink" from 5 to 6.4 liters, and diesel - 3.9 liters.
At the heart of the third-generation Suzuki Swift is the upgraded platform of its predecessor with an independent McPherson-type walker in front and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear (on all-wheel drive modifications - an independent torsion bar architecture).
An electric power steering is implanted in the car's rack and pinion steering system. The "Japanese" brake complex is formed by ventilated front and conventional rear discs (on the simplest version, "drums" are installed on the rear axle) with ABS and EBD.
Options and prices. In Russia, the supply of Swift of the third incarnation was discontinued in the spring of 2015, but in Europe, a 2016-2017 car is available at a price of 11,190 euros (~ 707 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate).
In the basic equipment, the hatchback has: seven airbags, power steering, two power windows, a four-speaker audio system, 15-inch steel wheels, ABS, Brake Assist, EBD, ESP and other modern equipment.
