The official premiere of the European version of the second generation of the Nissan Note car was scheduled for March 5, 2012 and was supposed to take place at the Geneva Motor Show. But the manufacturer did not wait for this date and provided the general public with all the basic information about the new product even earlier. This means that we have the opportunity to look at the "European" Nissan Note II today, which we, in fact, will do.

Some information about the second generation Nissan Note has been known for a long time, because the premiere of the Japanese version of this car took place last summer, and then Nissan Note was presented for the North American market. For Europe, the Japanese have prepared a slightly modernized version of their compact van, the previous version of which in Russia set a sales record in its class. The "European" Nissan Note II received a slightly different front end, a different line of engines and other chassis settings designed to significantly improve the car's handling ... and became a hatchback.

Yes, despite the fact that officially Nissan Note is a compact van, the second generation of this car can be attributed to the compact B-class hatchbacks. The novelty has slightly increased in dimensions: from now on, the Note is 4100 mm long, 1695 mm wide, and 1525 mm high. The length of the wheelbase of the second generation of the Note is 2,600 mm, and the ground clearance is 165 mm.

The silhouette of the novelty has become more elongated and smoothed, minor sports details have appeared, designed to attract the attention of young buyers. As a result, the 2nd generation Nissan Note has become much prettier and more attractive, coming close to the standards of modern automotive design. In the front of the car, a raised bumper stands out, the shape of which is designed to carry not only a stylistic load, but also to ensure the safety of pedestrians in the event of a collision: the bumper hooks a person's legs, throwing him onto the hood, thereby increasing the chances of avoiding serious injuries. Intricately shaped headlights look very original, as well as stampings on the sidewalls of new items, shimmering in the rays of the sun. At the rear, equally intricate lights and a tailgate with rounded contours clearly stand out.

The interior of the new Nissan Note is finished with decent quality materials. The front panel has an ergonomic layout, and the center console houses a curious climate control unit with a round display around which buttons are concentrated. The new steering wheel has two button blocks for easy control of the main comfort systems. The rear seat can be easily moved back and forth to increase luggage space, the volume of which in the basic state is 300 liters, and when the seat is pulled out and folded down, it reaches 1350 liters.

In terms of performance, in European markets, the second generation Nissan Note E12 will offer the buyer a choice of three engines. The youngest of them is a three-cylinder petrol power unit of the HR12DDR family with a displacement of 1.2 liters, capable of developing 80 hp. maximum power at 6000 rpm. The naturally aspirated engine has a peak torque of 110 Nm at 4000 rpm. Average fuel consumption is about 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers, and CO2 emissions do not exceed 109 g / km.

The second three-cylinder petrol engine is capable of developing 98 hp. with the same working volume of 1.2 liters. The maximum torque of this unit reaches 142 Nm, and the average consumption is about 4.3 liters of fuel. The engine is equipped with a supercharger drive, in addition, it operates on the Miller cycle, which allows to increase the efficiency of combustion of the fuel-air mixture, which provides better economy compared to its younger brother in the line.

The third engine for the 2nd generation Nissan Note is a 1.5-liter diesel with a capacity of 90 hp, which is also used on the Renault Duster. The four-cylinder diesel engine has a very low fuel consumption - 3.6 liters per 100 km of run, and also has good environmental performance - CO2 emissions are only 95 g / km.

To date, it is known that the junior gasoline power unit will be paired with a five-speed manual transmission, for the 98-horsepower "supercharger" a continuously variable CVT will also be available, but the transmissions for the diesel engine have not yet been reported. However, for Russia, this information may not be needed, since nothing is known about the supply of modifications of the Nissan Note 2 with a diesel engine under the hood to our country, while both gasoline engines will definitely come to Russia.

The second generation Nissan Note is built on the multi-purpose V-platform. At the front, Japanese engineers used a fully independent suspension based on MacPherson struts, and a torsion beam is used at the rear. The car's braking system is complemented by an impressive array of electronic auxiliary systems: ABS, EBD and Brake Assist (BAS).

According to preliminary data, in Europe, the new Nissan Note will be sold in three trim levels. In the basic configuration "Visia" the car will receive a "Start-Stop" system for all types of engines, six airbags and cruise control. In the middle Acenta configuration, the manufacturer will add air conditioning, power windows for all doors, and a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia system. The top-of-the-line Tekna will be available: a Safety Shield, a 4-camera Around View Monitor, partial leather trim and keyless entry to the salon. In addition, it is planned to release a limited edition of the "Dynamic" modification, featuring a spoiler, door sills, other bumpers and sports wheels. The manufacturer promises to name the prices for the European version of the second generation Nissan Note after the premiere in Geneva.
