In 2015, the Chinese auto giant Great Wall plans to significantly update and expand the range of its cars presented in Russia. One of the new products will be a restyled version of the Great Wall M4, which has received not only an improved design, but also a more attractive technical filling. Moreover, according to the Chinese, the Great Wall M4 New will not cost much more than its predecessor, and the initial configuration may even be cheaper than the current one.
Externally, the Great Wall M4 of 2015 is distinguished by other, more sporty bumpers: a volumetric insert appeared in front, covering the massive grille, and the block of daytime running lights combined with fog lights has changed; at the back there was also a place for a volumetric insert framing the diffuser, plus trapezoidal fog lights appeared.
In addition, the Great Wall M4 New is slightly longer than its predecessor - 3995 mm versus 3961 mm. Otherwise, the dimensions of the restyled version have not changed: wheelbase - 2383 mm, body width - 1728 mm, height - 1617 mm.
The interior of the Great Wall M4 New has also received a few point updates. First, the center console has changed. Now there are larger vents, a different climate control unit and a new 8-inch display for the multimedia system. Secondly, the 2015 Great Wall M4 received a new steering wheel. And, thirdly, restyling gave the crossover several new seat upholstery options.
In terms of the layout of the cabin, there have been no changes, just as there are none in the luggage compartment, which holds 337 liters in the base and 1251 liters of cargo with the rear row of seats folded down.
Specifications. The motor range in Russia is likely to remain the same, i.e. Russian buyers will have access to only a 4-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters (1497 cm3), 16-valve DOHC timing, multipoint injection and VVT variable valve timing system. The maximum engine power is 99 hp. at 6000 rpm, and the peak torque falls at around 138 Nm, available at 4200 rpm. If the engine remains without innovations, then the list of available gearboxes will expand: an optional automatic gearbox will be added to the already known 5-speed "mechanics", information on the characteristics of which has not yet been disclosed.
The Great Wall M4 2015 crossover, in addition to the front-wheel drive version, will also receive an all-wheel drive version based on an electronically controlled multi-plate interaxle clutch. The rest of the chassis remains the same: independent suspension on MacPherson struts at the front, semi-independent torsion beam at the rear, disc brakes (ventilated at the front) and power steering.
Equipment and prices. The exact timing of the appearance of the Great Wall M4 New in Russia has not yet been named, it is only known that the new product will come to us in 2015. In addition to the above-mentioned innovations, the Great Wall M4 2015 will receive a number of new optional equipment. In particular, ESP and TCS systems, cruise control, an electric sunroof, and a sports design package including aluminum pedals and red calipers will be available for the crossover. As for the price, the Chinese do not promise a serious rise in price, and the basic equipment, according to them, may become cheaper at all. However, these are still only preliminary pricing plans, which can be adjusted.
