Chevrolet Aveo is a front-wheel drive budget car of a subcompact class (combining expressive design, modern technology and good "driving" potential), which is offered in two body versions: a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback ... It is aimed primarily at a young audience (in including family people) who want to get an "inexpensive but emotional vehicle" ...

For the first time "live" car of the second generation with the in-house marking "T300" appeared before the world community in September 2010 - at the stands of the International Paris Motor Show, but its conceptual forerunner called the Aveo RS was shown in January of the same year at the motor show in Detroit ...

Compared to its predecessor, this "American" has become much more attractive externally and internally, slightly enlarged in size, perched on modernized equipment and received new equipment.

In November 2016, a restyled Aveo made its debut at a car show in New York, which changed mainly visually: the front end was almost completely "redrawn", changing the optics, bumper, hood and radiator grill, and also slightly correcting other parts of the "body". In addition, the car made minor changes to the interior and added new options.

Outside, the Chevrolet Aveo T300 looks attractive, balanced, fit and moderately aggressive, and no contradictory decisions are found in its outlines. The car makes the greatest impression from the front view - the frowning, but at the same time restrained look of the lighting technology, the embossed hood and the huge "mouth" of the radiator grille with chrome edging.

From other angles, the car cannot be blamed for its facelessness, but it is perceived not so emotionally:

  • the sedan looks quite solid thanks to the growing sideline, "muscular" wheel arches and a distinct "branch" of the trunk,
  • while the hatchback looks more like an amateur sportsman - disguised in the pillars of the rear door handles, short overhang and generally lean stern.

In terms of its dimensions, the second generation Aveo belongs to the B-class by European standards: length - 4039-4399 mm, width - 1735 mm, height - 1517 mm. The wheelbase of the car is 2525 mm, and its ground clearance is 155 mm.

The vehicle weighs between 1070 and 1168 kg when equipped (depending on the version).

Inside, the "second" Chevrolet Aveo meets its inhabitants with a beautiful, fresh and youthful design, good ergonomics, good finishing materials and good workmanship.

The driver's workplace is crowned with a three-spoke multi-steering wheel with a weighty rim and a laconic "toolbox" with two analog instruments and a monochrome "branch" of the onboard computer on the right side. The center console looks stylish and harmonious, and carries a minimum of physical controls: in the upper side there is a color display of the media center, and in the lower side there are three large air conditioning washers.

In the front part of the cabin, ergonomic seats are installed with sufficiently tight lateral support, wide adjustment intervals (from the driver's side - also in height) and heating. The second row of seats is equipped with a comfortable sofa, but in terms of the amount of free space it can accommodate only two adult riders (the third will be cramped in almost all directions).

"Aveo" in the sedan body has a luggage compartment with a volume of 502 liters, and the hatchback - from 290 to 653 liters, depending on the position of the "gallery" (it is transformed by a pair of asymmetric sections). Regardless of the modification, tools and a small spare wheel are hidden in the car's underground niche.


In the Russian market, the Chevrolet Aveo T300 is not officially offered, but at the same time it is sold in neighboring countries - for example, in Kazakhstan and Ukraine. There, the car is equipped with four-cylinder petrol "aspirated" with a working volume of 1.4 and 1.6 liters, respectively, with a vertical architecture, multi-point fuel injection, variable valve timing and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt:

  • The first unit generates 100 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
  • The second - 115 hp. at 6000 rpm and 155 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

Both motors are nominally mated with a 5-speed "mechanics" and driving front wheels, and for an additional fee - with a 6-band "automatic".

The first "hundred" is conquered by the car in 11.3-13.1 seconds, its maximum capabilities do not exceed 174-189 km / h, and fuel consumption is 5.9-7.1 liters for every 100 km of run in combined conditions.

It is worth noting that in other countries other power units are also installed on the car - these are gasoline atmospheric and turbocharged engines of 1.2-1.4 liters, developing 86-140 horsepower, as well as 1.2-liter turbodiesel fours, which produce 75-95 liters .with.

The second generation Aveo is based on the global GM Gamma II platform with a transverse engine arrangement and extensive use of high-strength steel in the body structure (it accounts for about 60%).

At the front, the "state employee" is equipped with an independent suspension of the MacPherson type, and at the rear - with a semi-independent system with a torsion beam ("in a circle" - with anti-roll bars). The car is equipped with a rack and pinion steering complex, in which a hydraulic or electric power steering is integrated (depending on the engine). Ventilated disc brakes are mounted on the front wheels of the car, and drum mechanisms (supplemented by default with ABS and EBD) on the rear wheels.


In the Russian market, the sales of the Chevrolet Aveo T300 were curtailed at the beginning of 2015, but in Kazakhstan, the 2018 car is offered exclusively in a three-volume body with a 115-horsepower engine, but in two trim levels - LS and LT.

The basic version costs at least 5,102,000 tenge (~ 960 thousand rubles), and for execution with 6АКПП you will have to pay from 5,302,000 tenge (~ 1 million rubles). By default, the sedan has: six airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, electric heated windscreen, electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, ABS, BAD, EBD, air conditioning, four electric windows, a light sensor, a multimedia installation, an audio system with six speakers and other options.

"Top-modification" will cost from 5 702 000 tenge (~ 1.08 million rubles), and its features are: wheels measuring 16 inches, fog lights, single-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, rear view camera with dynamic markup and some other equipment.
