The International North American Auto Show in Detroit, held in January 2015, became the arena for the official demonstration of the next (second in a row) generation "Titan".
Compared to its predecessor, the "truck" has changed in all directions - it has become even more brutal in appearance, received a wide number of versions, "prescribed" powerful and high-torque motors under its hood and enlarged in size.
The "second" Nissan Titan looks quite attractive, modern and extremely impressive. But it makes an especially strong impression from the front - the car literally inspires "fear and respect": a huge chrome "shield" of the radiator grille, solid headlights (in the "top" - LED) and a powerful bumper.
In profile, the "Japanese" attracts attention with its characteristic pickup lines, accentuated by a broken window sill line, large cutouts of wheel arches and expressive sidewalls, but at the back it demonstrates a very simple look - neat lights, a simple bumper and a tailgate.
The second generation Titan is available in three cab options - Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab.
The length of the "truck" is 5794-6187 mm, width - 2019-2050 mm, height - 1915-2004 mm. The distance between the pairs of wheels of the car has a gap of 3551-3851 mm, and its ground clearance is 205 mm.
In the "stowed" state, the car weighs from 2349 to 2847 kg, depending on the modification, and on board is capable of taking from 400 to 1320 kg of luggage. In addition, it can tow trailers with a total mass of 4260 to 5733 kg.
Inside the second-generation Nissan Titan looks no less impressive than outside - a solid four-spoke steering wheel, an exemplary "toolbox" with two dial gauges and a color display of the on-board computer, a massive center console on which a 7-inch monitor of the multimedia complex is located, a stylish climatic " remote control "and other controls ... However, in simple configurations, the interior of the pickup has a slightly simpler design.
In the interior of the car, exceptionally good-quality finishing materials are used - high-quality plastics, inserts "like aluminum" and "wood-like", fabric or genuine leather.
- "Titan" with a single cab is standardly equipped with two comfortable seats with unobtrusive lateral support, soft filling and wide adjustment ranges, but for a surcharge, an additional pillow for the third passenger can be installed between them.
- In the "lorry" behind there is a three-seater "bench", but only children can sit there.
- But the version with a double cab "flaunts" a full second row of seats and a solid supply of free space.
For the "second" Nissan Titan, three variants of the cargo platform are announced: its internal length can be 1702 mm, 2002 mm or 2501 mm, depending on the version. But the width of the body and the height of the sides are the same in all cases - 1621 mm and 528 mm, respectively.
There are two powertrains to choose from for this full-size pickup:
- The first is a 5.0 liter V8 Cummins ISV diesel engine with two turbochargers, common rail direct injection and a 32-valve timing structure, which generates 314 horsepower at 3200 rpm and 750 Nm of torque 1600 rpm.
- The second is a 5.6-liter Endurance gasoline engine with eight V-shaped cylinders, distributed "power", a 32-valve DOHC timing belt and variable valve timing, producing 395 hp. at 5800 rpm and 544 Nm available potential 4000 rpm.
Modifications with a diesel engine are equipped with a 6-band "automatic", and with a gasoline engine - a 7-speed automatic transmission.
By default, a rear-wheel drive transmission is installed on the car, and for a surcharge - a plug-in all-wheel drive of the Part-time type with a 2-stage "transfer case", four operating modes and locking differentials.
At the heart of the second incarnation of the Nissan Titan is a spar frame made of high-strength grades of steel, on which all units and assemblies are located (including a longitudinally mounted engine).
At the front, the pickup is equipped with an independent double wishbone suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers and a lateral stabilizer, and at the rear - a dependent system with a continuous axle, leaf springs and an anti-roll bar.
All wheels of the car are equipped with ventilated disc brakes (on the front axle with a diameter of 350-360 mm, in the rear - 345-365 mm) with ABS, EBD and other assistants. The rack and pinion steering center of the "truck" is complemented by a hydraulic power steering.
In the foreseeable future, the "second" Nissan Titan can reach the Russian market, but in the US it is sold at a price of $ 29,580 (~ 1.7 million rubles) for the basic version and from $ 31,590 (~ 1.83 million rubles) for " heavy "version XD.
The standard equipment of the car includes: front and side airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, a multimedia complex with a 5-inch screen, an audio system with six speakers, air conditioning, 17-inch wheels, power windows for all doors, "cruise" and other equipment.
